Fred Thompson - humble? I guess so.

Humility from a politician? How novel! (Hey senator Byrd, here's an example for you)

A stretch of highway in Fred Thompson's hometown will not be named after him.

The former U.S. senator and potential presidential candidate asked state lawmakers to withdraw such a proposal.

Thompson said in a letter that his father's car dealership in Lawrenceburg was located along the road, but added that the road should remain Highway 43.

Thompson said he appreciated the thought.
